Facing the Giants
Facing the Giants was released in 2006 as an American Christian drama film. This movie was directed by Alex Kendrick. Alex Kendrick is also in this movie and plays the role of the head football coach Grant Taylor. Facing the Giants is a movie about a struggling football team that is ran by a life-struggling coach. Coach Taylor goes through the hardships of a record of several failing seasons, being replaced as coach, house and car are breaking apart, financial issues, and later on he finds out he is the reason why he cannot have kids with his wife. At that period of time in Grant's life, he had no sight of God. The faith that Grant later on had in God is what helped him through his hard times as a coach and husband. From there on out everything took care of itself in time. Grant than, ended up losing only one game and than going on to win the state championship. God helped Grant through these times as an individual, and than his prayer was answered and later on he had two children with his wife. I really enjoyed this movie as a whole. It caught my attention because it involved football and it is considerably an "under dog" story. But not only that, it also involved a religion aspect that opens your eyes to the wonders that God can do. God is everywhere and in everyone, regardless of who you are or whats going on. As long as there is hope and faith, God will be there for you through hardships of your lifetime.
