Facing the Giants Review by Chris Kaatz

This was an amazing movie. It was written by Stephen and Alex Kendrick and directed by Alex Kendrick. This movie is fit for all audiences. There is zero violence and no cursing. Even if you are not a Christian, you can still find a good message in this movie. The movie is about a high school coach that isn’t doing well. He turns to God and everything turns around. This message is really amazing. It really got me thinking about what God says in the Bible and how if we have the faith of a mustard seed, we can move mountains. Now, I know that there are no moving mountains and that it was just a figure of speech, but God IS always with us. He is OBSESSED with us and will NEVER LEAVE us NO MATTER WHAT. One of my favorite lines in the movie comes when one of the players asks his dad why God made him so small. His dad tells him it is so that God can show how mighty He is to the boy every day. This movie is an excellent example of this because as the coach and team turn to God, their losing streak turns around. Sometimes, we don’t feel like God cares about the little things that happen in our life, but He is always with us. As weird as it may seem, God is all powerful and yet at the same time He takes the time to walk with each one of us individually. How awesome is that? God spends time with each and every one of us. He doesn’t have to, but He wants to because He loves us so much!
