The Gospel According to Wall-E

"God Grew Tired of Us" is a 2006 documentary about three of the "Lost Boys of Sudan", a group of some 25,000 young men who have fled the wars in Sudan since the 1980's , and their experiences as they move to the United States. The film was written and directed by Christopher Dillon Quinn. After watching the movie, I could not believe how the living conditions are in Sudan compared to the United States. It truly opened my eyes to how much I take for granted living in the United States.I also noticed how the people and families in Sudan made use of every resource they could...down to the last cent. Not only that, but everyone is really close-knit as a family. This movie has a lot of evidence of how Sudan is compared to other places in the world. It makes the U.S. look so materialistic. It really makes you stop and think about how life is a gift, and to not take things for granted. The opportunities here in the United States are so endless, but in Sudan it is very limited...such as an education. We as Americans have so much more than the lost boys in Sudan. But, the lost boys try to make the best of their surroundings and what they got. God gave every human the gift of life, and he has a plan for every individual. At times when we feel we are about to give up on out complications in life , what doesn't kill us is only making us stronger...and by having our trust and faith in God, we can overcome these complications. This movie definitely inspired me to give thanks for all the blessings I have been given.

God Grew Tired Of Us
God Grew Tired Of Us is a documentary about three Sudanese men who had to run from their dangerous country to try for a better life in America. The movie was all produced, written and directed by Cristopher Quinn. Executive producer of this film is the famous Brad Pitt and it is narrated by award winning Nicole Kidman. God Grew Tired Of Us was released in limited cities on January 12, 2007.
A child will see this movie and perhaps fall asleep within the first fifteen minutes or go off and play with the nearest toy they can find. This movie was definitely not meant for a parent to put on for their child to keep them occupied because it will quickly lose their attention. If a teenager is to watch this film I believe the movie will leave them with at least a little impact. They are going to be familiar with the scenarios and objects the sudanese men come into contact with in america and be able to relate to how things are handled and used. The biggest impact of all will come to an adult who watches this film. God Grew Tired Of Us will leave the adult watching with a feeling of thankfulness for what they are blessed to have and the many things provided for them in which they normally take advantage of in every day life.
God Grew Tired Of Us reveals to us the easy lifestyle we as americans have and how not everyone else in the world has that same lifestyle in which everything is presented to them to take and use at their own leisure. This message is being sent to make everyone who takes the time to watch this movie embrace the life they have have, be more thankful, and less likely to complain about the small things that other people across the world would most likely love to have in their life. I believe this film reveals to us just how adaptable God made us to different environments. It is amazing to see how people learn to use new devices, change to fit their surroundings, and alter their way of living to be like those around them. He definitely meant for us to learn new things throughout our whole lives, whether we decide to take advantage of that is up to us.
