Wall-E

Assignment # 1

Disney's-Pixar's Wall-E

1. Choosing this class for my first year of college was really easy, i enjoy the concept of the class and i was looking forward to hearing Pastor Sam's point of view on movies. So our first assignment was watching Wall-E, i had never seen this movie but i did hear good reviews about it and i was excited to watch it for myself. I personally have never paid much attention to the writers, producers, and directors of movies. Only if the director happens to be popular then i know and mostly follow their movies. i've learned that if it wasn't for the producers movies wouldn't go anywhere. But anyways going back to the movie, the director of Wall-E is Andrew Stanton, the producer is Jim Morris,co producer is Lindsey Collins,Executive producer is John Lasseter, associate producer is Thomas Porter, original story was by Andrew Stanton, and Pete Doctor, and screenplay was by Andrew Stanton, and Jim Reardon. All of these people were the reasons why this movie became what it is today.
2. A lot of the techniques that stood out to me in this movie, was the computer graphics, and just how real they made everything look. The computer screening was really interesting. Another interesting part was how all the characters had their own uniqueness to them. For example, Wall-E is a sweet guy who just goes around collecting new things he can use one day for his benefit, he wants to find true love. Eve is designed to kill and wall-e helps her be sensitive to things out around her. The little bug was what brought them together.
3. When it comes to how other people perceived the movie i asked two of my friends what they thought of the movie and what they got from it. My friend Jazmin, she thought the movie was interesting and she thought i was more than just a kid movie. There was more meaning in it for her. My other friend Abby thought it was a good movie but it was more for everyone than just kids it had a lesson to teach all of us. What i got from it is that when you get so sucked into technology you lose sight of everything around you. This movie opened my eyes to reality and just made me see something so close to us today in society. It is eye opening.
4. The lifestyle i got from this movie was if we keep living our lives where we don't care about our environment and nature around us ,and let technology be our number one priority we will eventually become couch potatoes, the world will die and us humans will cease to exist. Values i understood was that love is a life instrument for us and always will be, because in times of need we always come together. Points of view were how society views fat people and how becoming unhealthy effects everything around you. Half of those people in space didn't realize just what was around them from looking outside a window to the very people you pass by everyday. Society makes us self centered in everything we do.
5. Part of what why this message is being sent is to show us how important nature is and how we should appreciate it and the other was to make us aware of what not to become. Just how technology shouldn't be our main focus, maybe getting in touch with our green finger will help make our world a better place.
6. When i first saw Wall-E the first thing that came to mind was God and the Devil. I saw what Revelations says about how the world will end and God will take us to heaven build a new earth and bring us back to live there. In the movie it was humans going to this space world, and the way they knew when to come back to earth was having a plant. What i understood that the Devil has a part in it was that when the plant was delivered to the main man up in space it was taken away by the machines and it suddenly wasn't there anymore, it showed how the Devil is with us who believe in god he wants to put obstacles in our way so that we don't see him, and continue in the path he wants us to go. All in all this movies was the best and i would really recommend it to everyone. From now on i want to ask everyones opinion on it and just really understand what they got from it.
The End!
