Crash was a film produced and directed by Paul Haggis. Also Haggis was one of the writers of the movie along with Bobby Moresco. The movie's creative techniques was really captivating because the writers used how the different type of lifestyles in Los Angeles, such as how different race and social status live. Anyone can totally relate to this movie because the movie showed how blacks, latinos, asians, white and other races faced everything in a matter of a day, but not only people can relate just because of their ethnicity background, but also according to their social status, whether they were fortunate or unfortunate, everyone can relate to it. The characters in this movie were well portrayed, I like how they have different characters that conveyed what they really think about others. The movie crash was intense, I like how they showed how the characters are like and how they live and act, but it was so unpredictable how they behave.Like the white police man who molested the black married woman, and later in the movie he didn't give her up and tried to save her from the car accident before the car blew up. Also some of the segments in the movie were not predictable, like the the little girl did not end up dying, at first I really thought she died and it made me cry because she was so innocent but it turned out that she was alive. The purpose of the movie was that, there will always be some kind of goodness in everyone and the characters learned their lessons according to tragedies that happen to them. Also the characters are responsible for whatever action they did and how they respond to it. This film sent out a message that God will always be there for us no matter what happen, whatever trials we face He will always find a way for us to face that challenge and made us realize that we have goodness within ourselves.

The movie crash is a unique and compelling story about the lives of various people in Los Angeles, and how in a short thirty six hours all their lives collide in an unexpected way. Crash was written and directed by Paul Haggis(the same guy who brought us Million Dollar Baby). It was produced by Paul Haggis and Don Cheadle(the actor who plays Detective Graham Waters in the movie). Lions Gate Entertainment released the low budget movie on May 6, 2005 and the very start of its release turned into a great success.
We can easily tell Crash is a drama type of movie the way it opens your eyes to everything that is really going on around us and leaves no mercy to its viewers. It points out the racism and social problems of everyday life and how people tend to cope with these problems. The plot itself is an attraction. A group of about fifteen different people who don’t have a clue that each other exists are going to somehow cross paths as their worlds collide with one another. Most people wanting to stretch their usual movie genres and wanting to see a movie that will leave them feeling like they were finally told the truth of the social environment around us are going to be attracted to this movie.
I’m not going to start out talking about how children would view this movie when seeing it because they shouldn’t even be allowed near this movie in the first place. In the unfortunate and hopefully not traumatizing event that they do see the movie they most likely won’t understand the conflicts that are going on in the movie among characters. They will probably be in awe at all the new material they are being exposed to and not even think about the plot going on. Most teenagers will see this movie and leave feeling good that they chose a good movie to see that day. Maybe they won’t think much deeper into the story unfolded before them, but deep down they will get a hint of an uneasy at what awaits them in the real world; when they are no longer sheltered by the parents who provide everything for them on a platter. Lastly we get to adults. This movie was made for the average working american adult without a doubt. The stresses of everyday life from owning a business, bad coworkers, pessimistic “friends”, relationship problems, and our own private pitfalls. Most adults nowadays can relate to at least one if not several of those problems. That is why Crash is geared towards the average american adult, because they can easily relate to the story at hand.
There is definitely a reason why this message is being sent and to me this is not a hidden message in the least. The message in Crash is as clear as someone walking right up to you and spitting in your face, no subtlety in that action. I don’t feel I should even have to point out the message Haggis is trying to get across to us because its so evident, but I will anyhow. The message is that we as a whole people need to try and get rid of our racial prejudice or at least try to minimize it.
Just from the way the people in the movie act I believe Crash is somewhat saying we take advantage of what God has surrounded us with and the people He puts in our lives. The people in Crash were too ignorant to realize how critical they were being of the people around them until the end, and when they did realize it in the end so much had already happened it sort of just left them a bit stunned. We should definitely be thankful for what God has given us and not let the tension of daily life regularly effect our attitudes towards others in a negative way.
